This show-stopper is a rare find! Each image is cut from wood and hand detailed with acrylic paint, and the frame on each original alphabet is unique. From Alligator to Zydeco, every letter of this alphabet proudly represents New Orleans culture and history.
This design was inspired by a family heirloom cross-stitch made by the artist’s great-grandmother. The antique is an alphabet of botanicals, which hung framed in the kitchen of his childhood home. Inspired by the detail and clever problem solving in his granny’s work, Aaron started inventing alphabets of his own as a game. Now grown and painting professionally, he harkens back to an early moment of inspiration while celebrating the great city of New Orleans.
